How we research, verify and update grant information

Our standards

• Official sources first. We base program details on the funder's or agency's own website (for example .gov pages, Grants.gov, or a foundation's official page). We link those sources so you can check them yourself.
• No invented numbers. We state an award amount, deadline or eligibility rule only when the official source states it. If a source doesn't say, we say so.
• Dated checks. Grants in our alerts and dashboard show the date we last checked the official page. Closed programs are marked closed and excluded from matches.
• No aggregator links in alerts. Grant Alerts link to the official application or program page, never to paid lists or third-party "grant" sites.
• Plain English. Each guide opens with a short answer, then steps you can act on.
• People first, not search engines. We publish guides to answer real questions, not to fill pages. We merge or update overlapping pages instead of publishing near-duplicates.

Independence

Funders do not pay us to be listed, and listings are not ads. If that ever changes for a specific item, we will label it clearly. Our income comes from published subscription plans for optional matching and guidance services.

How we use AI and automation

We may use software to help find and organize opportunities and draft summaries. Facts are checked against the official source before they're published or emailed, and each grant shows the date it was checked.

Corrections

Found an error or a broken link? Email support@americangrantassociation.org with the page URL. We review every correction request and update the page's "Updated" date when content changes materially.

What we never do

Read our trust promises, including never charging fees to "release" grants and never asking for your SSN or bank login.
